The conversion depends on the blood-test marker

Choose the marker before entering the value. A mass-to-molar conversion depends on the substance’s molecular mass, so glucose and triglycerides use different factors even when their unit labels look the same.

Read both from your report. This tool includes glucose, creatinine, albumin, CRP, triglycerides, calcium, hemoglobin, and ferritin. A value reported as below a detection limit cannot be treated as an exact number.

Example: creatinine at 1 mg/dL

Multiply by 88.4 to get 88.4 µmol/L. For glucose, the conventional-to-SI factor is 0.05551, so 90 mg/dL is approximately 5.00 mmol/L. A single conversion factor cannot serve both markers.

Common questions

How do I convert glucose from mg/dL to mmol/L?

Multiply by 0.05551. For example, 100 mg/dL is about 5.55 mmol/L. To convert back, divide by the same factor. Dividing by 18 is a commonly used approximation.

How do I convert creatinine from µmol/L to mg/dL?

Divide by 88.4. A result of 88.4 µmol/L becomes 1 mg/dL. This conversion changes the units; it does not interpret kidney function.

Are CRP in mg/L and mg/dL the same?

No. A liter contains ten deciliters, so 0.1 mg/dL equals 1 mg/L. Check which unit your report and the calculator require.

Why does ferritin stay the same number?

One ng/mL equals one µg/L. Both the mass and volume units change by the same factor, so the numerical value stays the same.

Can I convert insulin from pmol/L here?

Insulin is not included. Its activity-to-molar conversion can depend on the assay. Use the laboratory’s documented factor rather than a universal conversion.

Is this a blood-test interpretation?

No. This tool changes units. Reference ranges, sample conditions, assay methods, and the rest of your health information still matter when interpreting a result.
